Coach Beaty's Biography PDF Print E-mail

Track and Field has been in my blood from the beginning as I grew up in Havana, IL. I went to State in both junior high and high school. The summer of 1998, I qualified for the Junior Olympic in the 400 hurdles. Then after high school, I continued to run at Monmouth College from 1999-2003. I participated in a variety of events both indoors and outdoors: 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, pole vault, long jump, javelin, and relays. Also, I was the first female pole vaulter at Monmouth and held the record at 10’6”.

After graduation, I packed up and moved to Ecuador, South America to teach 3rd and 7th grade English as a Second Language. When I returned to the states, I moved to Florida. I was a pole vault and hurdle coach at Barron Collier High School for a year. However, the hurricanes blew me back to Illinois. I was lucky though to find a coaching job at Prospect High School coaching the hurdles and sprints.

This is now my fifth year being a part of the Prospect girl’s track and field family. I have truly enjoyed working with the coaches and athletes. When I moved back to Illinois I was looking to complete my puzzle and find a place where I could start building a home. I am very fortunate to have found the missing puzzle piece and to call myself a Prospect Knight!

Sincerely,

Coach Beaty
