Clerk of the Course:  gives the heat & lane assignments for each upcoming race (with the help of the heat sheets and the head coach)

Head Finish Judge / Timer:  designates the places and times to be assigned to each competitor (really just helps in any discrepancies in places or times)

Timer:  for races with more participants than timers (distance races only), keeps a running clock, hollers out times as the athlete crosses the line or has a split watch that will save all those finishes. Usually only needed in a few races each meet.

Recorder:  records the results of the races (place and time) 1st place finish judge / timer - 6th place judge / timer:  decides on and times the 1st place finisher (or 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, depending on your position) and their time; tells finish line recorder - place, name, school, time; then tells athlete place & time.

Exchange Zone Judge:  judges if the baton was passed inside the exchange zone for all sprint relays.

Curve Judge: judges if athletes remain in their lanes (for sprint races and sometimes first curve of distance races) and on the track (for distance races).

Head Pole Vault Judge: calls the name of the athlete to compete, judges if the attempt is fair, assigns and records a mark for each attempt. There will be several assistants to help in the judging.

Pole Vault Worker:  helps in the judging if an attempt is fair, helps in readying the area for the next attempt.

Admissions Worker:  charges admission to meet, stamps hand upon entry.

Concessions worker:  helps run / supervise the concession stand.

Head Long Jump Judge:  calls the name of the athlete to compete, judges if the attempt is fair, assigns a mark for each fair attempt after reading the tape measure, and records each attempt. There will be several assistants to help in the judging.

Long jump worker / Assistant Judge:  helps in the judging if an attempt is fair, helps in measuring each fair attempt by marking where the competitor landed, rakes the sand between each attempt and makes sure the sand is level and easy to judge the next mark.

Head Triple Jump Judge: calls the name of the athlete to compete, judges if the attempt is fair, assigns a mark for each fair attempt after reading the tape measure, and records each attempt. There will be several assistants to help in the judging.

Triple Jump Worker / Assistant Judge: helps in the judging if an attempt is fair, helps in measuring each fair attempt by marking where the competitor landed. Rakes the sand between each attempt and makes sure the sand is level and easy to judge the next mark.

Head High Jump Judge:  calls the name of the athlete to compete, judges if the attempt is fair, assigns and records a mark for each attempt. There will be several assistants to help in the judging.

High Jump Worker:  helps in the judging if an attempt is fair, helps in readying the area for the next attempt.

Head Shot Put Judge: calls the name of the athlete to compete, judges if the attempt is fair, assigns a mark for each fair attempt after reading the tape measure, and records each attempt. There will be several assistants to help in the judging.

Shot Put Worker / Assistant Judge: helps in the judging if an attempt is fair, helps in measuring each fair attempt by marking where the competitor’s shot landed, helps retrieve the shots and makes sure the throwing vector is ready (and safe) for the next attempt.

Head Discus Judge: calls the name of the athlete to compete, judges if the attempt is fair, assigns a mark for each fair attempt after reading the tape measure, and records each attempt. There will be several assistants to help in the judging.

Discus Worker / Assistant Judge: helps in the judging if an attempt is fair, helps in measuring each fair attempt by marking where the competitor’s disc landed, helps retrieve the discs and makes sure the throwing vector is ready (and safe) for the next attempt.
