Top 20 ListsThese lists has been compiled over my tenure as head coach of the girls’ Track & Field team at Prospect, which started in 1985. Points earned are generally the amount of varsity points an athlete scores in her events. In a relay (in some meets, even the field events are scored as a relay), the points are evenly distributed among the relay members. If an athlete performs on the JV level, but has a performance that would’ve allowed her to score on the varsity level, she will be given those points (although the team did not actually get them). Times, distances, and heights are generally the ones officially recorded, but on occasion these are adjusted if a) there was no official record of the performance or b) we are fairly certain that our record of the performance is more accurate than the official one recorded. Sometimes mistakes are made in official recordings and they are not caught by us. Because of this, some of the performances may not have been actually achieved. Special codes: w – wind aided (for sure, even though no wind gauge was used), c – converted from yards, i – indoor, t – time trial (not an official meet although measurement was accurate). Relay splits involving distances of 400m or more, can be pretty accurately measured so we have included them on our list. Relay splits of 100 and 200m, however, are much more difficult to measure, both in time and distance; therefore they have not been included in these lists. Confused? I hope not. Too much detail? Maybe, but I just wanted to help you with how these all came about. For the most part, I can guarantee that these lists are 98% accurate! They are meant for fun and striving for excellence. How many places can you get your name in here during your career? Please enjoy them! Dave Wurster Girls Head Coach 1985-2010 |
