05/16 and 05/17/2008 State Meet in Charleston

• Claire Hollis, Lucy Taylor, Amy Abdnor and Emily Salzman broke thier own School Record in the 4 X 800 M Relay to finish 2nd in State, behind a Barrington team who ran a new state record. It was great competition and times were very fast all weekend.  
• The 4 x 100 M Relay composed of Beata Fiszer, Lindsey Travers, Kiley Shelley and Brittney Mule' ran a season best time placing them 4th on the All Time Top 20 List,
• The 4 x 200 M Relay composed of Kiley Shelley, Lindsey Travers, Sara Wendel and Beata Fiszer also ran a season best time placign them 5th on the All Time Top 20 List,
• Kiley Shelley, Brittney Mule', Amy Abdnor and Emily Salzman ran a 4:07.18 in the 4 x 400 M Relay,
• Claire Hollis got a new PR in the 1600 M and is now 4th on the All Time Top 20 List, 
• Lucy Taylor ran a 2:20.32 in the 800 M,
• Annette White ran an 11:24.46 in the 3200 M,
• Emily Gruendel threw 37' 11.5" in the Shot Put.

05/09/2008 Sectional Meet at Palatine

• The Team finished third out of 21 teams.
• State Qualifiers and Sectional Medalists were: 
  Annette White in the 3200 M,
  Emily Salzman in the 800 M and the 4 x 400 M Relay, 
  Emily Gruendel in the Shot Put ,
  Lucy Taylor in the 800 M and the 1600 M,
  Claire Hollis in the 1600 M and the 4 x 800 M Relay,
  Kasey Krum in the 4 x 800 M Relay, 
  Jeanette Wochinski in the 4 x 800 M Relay,
  Amy Abdnor in the 4 x 800 M Relay and the 4 x 400 M Relay,
  Beata Fiszer in the 4 x 100 M Relay and the 4 x 200 M Relay,
  Sara Wendell in the 4 x 200 M Relay,
  Lindsey Travers in the 4 x 100 M Relay and the 4 x 200 M Relay,

05/02/2008 Conference Meet at Hersey

• The Team finished fourth place overall.
• Lucy Taylor was a Conference Champion in the 800 M with a New School Record.
• Third Place finishers were:

  Christie Kolias in the Pole Vault.
  
• Fourth Place finishers were:
  4 x 800 M Relay composed of Jeanette Wochinski, Amy Abdnor, Kasey Krum and Emily Salzman,

04/20/2008  Service Event - Feed My Starving Children

18 athletes and 1 coach gave two hours of thier time to help starving children. Katie Bialas, Melanie Kurinec, Lydia Trebels, Claire Hollis, Katie Burns, Gretchen Frank, Kathleen Janis, Molly Blunk, Brittney Cabrera, Michelle Kocelko, Melanie Armgardt, Kathryn Lowry, Carolyn Kragh, Veronica Bertellotti, Nora O'leary, Anna Hallman, Kelly Villano and Coach Burnett all packed dry meals to be shipped to countries in need around the world. 

04/19/2008  Champaign Invitational

• Varsity won the meet against 11 other teams and some strong competition.
• First Place finishers were:
  Emily Gruendel in the Shot Put,
  Lucy Taylor in the 3200 M,
  Annette White in 1600 M,
  Grace Gruendel in the Pole Vault,
• Second Place finishers were:
  Claire Hollis in the 3200 M,

• Varsity and JV won the meet.

04/11/2008  Downers Grove North Invitational

• Varsity has a strong showing, placing 3rd out of 16 teams. 
• The Frosh-Soph 4 x 400 M Relay composed of Amy Abdnor, Jeanette Wochinski, Kasey Krum and Emily Salzman had a first place finish. Thier performance puts them at the top of the Frosh Shop Top 20 List.
• Second Place finishers were:
  The 4 X 800 M Relay composed of Claire Hollis, Jeanette Wochinski, Emily Salzman and Lucy Taylor,
  Amy Abnor in the 800 M,
  Erin Ward in the Pole Vault,
• Third Place finishers were:
  Lucy Taylor in the 1600 M,
  Emily Gruendel in the Shot Put.
• Also earning points on the meet were Sam Ford, Courtney Hug, Brittney Mule', Joanna Stawarz, Beata Fiszer and Kiley Shelley.

04/04/2008  Prospect Relays

• Varstiy got second place.
• Thanks to the many parent voluteers. The meet was a success becaue of your help.
• First Place winners were:
  Claire Hollis, Emily Salzman, Lucy Taylor and Annette White in the Distance Medley Relay ran a New School Record,
  Veronica Bertellotti, Lydia Trebels, Katie Bialas and Jen Nowak in the Triple Jump Relay. Jen set a New School Record, improving on the one that was previously held by her.
  Beata Fiszer, Erin Ward, Kelly Villano and Mae Manaois in the Long Jump Relay. 
  Amy Abdnor, Jeanette Wochinski, Kasey Krum and Annette White in the 4 X 800 M Relay.

• Varstiy and JV both win the meet.

03/29/2008  Indoor State Meet - Illinois Weslyan 

• 4 x 800 M Relay of Amy Abdnor, Lucy Taylor, Claire Hollis and Emily Salzman placed 4th and set a New Indoor Record.
• Annette White placed 12th in the 3200 M and also set a New Indoor Record, previously held by her.
• Distance Medley of Jeanette Wochinski, Amy Abdnor, Emily Salzman and Claire Hollis placed 7th.
• Emily Gruendel placed 8th in the Shot Put.
• Christie Kollias placed 10th in the Pole Vault.
• Lucy Taylor placed 16th in the 1600 M.

03/14/2008  Varsity Conference at Wheeling

• Varsity placed 5th out of 12 teams.
• Second Place finishers were:

• JV placed 2nd out of 12 teams.
• First place finishers were:

03/07/2008  Glenbard North Invitational

• Varsity placed 3rd out of a field of 8 teams while the JV placed 2nd.
• The following varsity athletes placed 1st in thier respective events:
  Lucy Taylor - 1600 M - with a New Indoor School Record.
  Annette White - 3200 M - also a New Indoor School Record.
  Brittney Mule' - 55 M Hurdles.
  Jen Nowak - Triple Jump.
• The following JV athletes placed 1st in thier respective events:
  Michelle Sciortino - 3200 M.
  Joanna Stawarz - 55 M Hurdles.
  Grace Gruendel - Pole Vault.
• Lucy Taylor, Annette White and Christie Kollias all quanlified for the Indoor State Meet.

03/03/2008  Downers Grove South Relays

• The 4 X 800 M relay, consisting of Annette White, Claire Hollis, Kasey Krum and Lucy Taylor, ran a New Indoor School Record. They also broke the previous meet record but finished second to the new meet record holder, Lyons Township. This performance qualifies them for the Indoor State meet.
• The 4 X 400 M relay, consisting of Jeanette Wochinski, Claire Hollis, Lucy Taylor and Amy Abnor, won thier heat and had an 8th place overall finish.
• The 4 X 200 M relay, consisting of Kiley Shelley, Beata Fiszer, Jen Nowak and Amy Abdnor, placed 20th overall. 

02/28/2008  York Invitational

• Varsity places 2nd place as a team.
• JV places 4th in the team race.

02/18/2008 Track Kicks Off the Season with a Great Parent Meeting

• Thank you to all who attended the meeting to learn the events, cheer on thier athletes and help measure, time, rake and sweep. We look forward to using those talents when you volunteer.

Track and Field Starts January 28th, 2008!!!

• Athlete must register with Felicia Walter in the Athletic Office.
• An up to date phycial is required for all athletes.
• Make sure to have appropriate clothing at school as we will periodically have outside practices.

Monday, February 18 - Parent Athlete Coach Meeting and Time Trials

All parents are encouraged to attend. The evening will begin with a parent meeting to discuss the program. Following the meeting, the parents will learn about the events and how to assist at meets while watching the athletes perform in this mock event time trial.
